In short: Using LamppAI means you accept these terms. If you use it for an organization, you accept them for that organization too.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and LamppAI ("LamppAI", "we", "us"). They cover our website, the learner app, Teaching Studio, our LMS integrations, and live lessons booked through us (together, the "Service").
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and confirm you have read our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
If you use the Service on behalf of an academy, company, or other organization, you confirm you have authority to accept these Terms for it. If that organization has a separate written agreement with us, that agreement wins where the two differ.
In short: You must be at least 13. Under 18, you need permission from a parent, guardian, or your school.
- You must be at least 13 years old.
- If you are under 18, a parent, guardian, or the school or academy that gives you access must agree to these Terms for you.
- You may not use the Service if the law where you live forbids it, or if we have previously closed your account for breaking these Terms.
In short: Keep your sign-in secure and your details accurate. You are responsible for what happens in your account.
You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email, or with Google, Apple, or Microsoft. Keep access to your email and sign-in accounts secure, and do not share your LamppAI account. You are responsible for activity in your account.
Give us accurate information and keep it up to date. Tell us at team@lamppai.com if you think someone else has used your account.
In short: AI Teachers are for practice. They can be wrong, so check anything important before you rely on it.
Every AI Teacher on LamppAI is an artificial intelligence. An AI Teacher modelled on a real educator is not that educator, and it says so plainly. The educator does not take part in your conversations unless you book a live lesson with them.
- AI can be wrong. Replies, feedback, scores, and summaries are generated by AI and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your situation.
- Practice only. AI Teachers are for rehearsal and learning. They do not provide legal, medical, financial, psychological, or other professional advice, and are not a substitute for a qualified professional.
- Previews are scripted. The preview conversations on our website are scripted examples, not live AI sessions.
- Not for emergencies. If you or someone else is in danger, contact your local emergency services.
In short: Use LamppAI to learn. Do not use it to harm people, break the law, or break the Service.
You agree not to:
- break the law, or help anyone else do so;
- harass, threaten, or harm anyone, or create content that sexualizes minors;
- impersonate a person, or build an AI Teacher modelled on a real person without their verified permission;
- upload material you do not have the right to use, or that contains malware;
- try to get around usage limits, safety measures, or access controls, or probe or attack the Service's security;
- scrape, copy, or resell the Service, or use it or its outputs to build a competing product or train AI models;
- reverse engineer the Service, except where the law allows it despite this restriction;
- enter, upload, or say identifiable health, financial, or government-ID information about a real person, or upload a recording of a real conversation, unless the organization that gave you access has a written agreement with LamppAI that allows that use.
We may remove content or limit access that breaks these rules.
In short: You own your conversations and uploads. You give us only the permission we need to run the Service for you.
"Your content" means what you write, say, and upload, such as messages, transcripts, CVs, job descriptions, and course materials. You keep ownership of your content.
You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to host, process, transmit, and display your content only as needed to provide, secure, and support the Service for you. This includes sending it to the service providers listed in our Privacy Policy. This permission ends when your content is deleted, except for copies we must keep by law.
We do not use your content to train AI models. You confirm you have the rights needed to upload your content and to let us use it this way.
In short: You own the AI Teachers you build. Modelling one on a real person needs their verified consent and a signed license.
If you build AI Teachers in Teaching Studio, you keep ownership of the materials you provide. You choose how each material may be used, including whether it may ever be used for model training, which is off by default.
- Real people. An AI Teacher that uses a real person's name, likeness, or voice requires that person's identity verification and a signed Digital Replica License before it can be published.
- Learner privacy. You see where learners struggle, not their transcripts. Do not try to identify or contact learners outside the Service without their consent.
- Review. We may review, decline, or unpublish AI Teachers that break these Terms or put learners at risk.
- Earnings. Creator earnings, holds, and payouts follow the terms shown in Teaching Studio, and payouts are made through Stripe Connect, whose terms also apply.
In short: Organizations manage access for their people. Their own agreement with us can add to or change these Terms.
Academies and companies can give their learners or teams access to the Service, connect it to their LMS, and pay for practice minutes. An organization's administrators can manage its workspace and see the results described in our Privacy Policy, such as grades sent back to the LMS or a scored recap.
If you are given access by an organization, it may end your access at any time. The organization is responsible for having the right to share its learners' information with us and for its own courses and course sales.
If you pay LamppAI directly, these Terms and the Privacy Policy cover you. If an academy, school, or company gives you access, that organization decides why the Service is used for its learners, and LamppAI processes that organization's learner data on its instructions. That organization's written agreement with us, including a data processing addendum, controls how long we keep that data and when we return or delete it, where it differs from these Terms.
When a school uses the Service for its students, LamppAI acts as a school official for the school's legitimate educational interest, under the school's control. The school gives any required notices and permissions and sends only what the practice needs.
These Terms are not a business associate agreement. Real patient information is allowed only when that customer's written agreement with us says so.
In short: Start free. Paid plans renew automatically until you cancel. Plan minutes reset monthly; pack minutes do not.
Current plans and prices are on our Pricing page. The prices shown in your account at checkout are the ones that apply. Prices are in US dollars, and taxes may be added.
Plans
- Free includes Text, review, and progress, plus a limited number of Audio minutes. It has no Video minutes.
- Paid plans are billed monthly or yearly in advance and renew automatically at the then-current price until you cancel.
- Plan minutes reset every month, including on yearly plans. Unused plan minutes do not carry over.
- Packs are one-time purchases of extra Audio or Video minutes. Pack minutes do not reset each month.
Free trial
Where offered, a free trial lasts 7 days and is limited to one per account. You add a payment method to start it. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your plan starts and you are charged automatically.
Payments and price changes
Payments are processed by Stripe. You authorize us to charge your payment method for your plan, renewals, and purchases. If we change the price of your plan, we will tell you before your next renewal, and you can cancel before the new price applies.
Referral rewards
When someone you invite takes their first paid personal plan, you each receive bonus Audio minutes, as shown in the app. Rewards are capped each month, have no cash value, and may be reversed if the payment is refunded or the invite was misused.
In short: Cancel anytime in your account. You keep access until the period ends. We do not refund partial periods or used minutes.
You can cancel a paid plan at any time from your account's billing settings. Cancellation stops the next renewal. You keep your plan and its minutes until the end of the period you have already paid for.
Payments are non-refundable, including for partial billing periods, unused plan minutes, and unused pack minutes, except where the law requires a refund. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by law.
Live lessons with educators
You can cancel a booked live lesson free of charge up to 12 hours before it starts, and we refund you automatically. Later cancellations are not refunded.
In short: We own LamppAI itself. We keep improving it, which means features can change.
The Service, including its software, design, AI Teacher personas we create, and the LamppAI name and logo, belongs to us or our licensors. These Terms give you a personal, non-transferable right to use the Service as allowed here, and nothing more.
We keep improving the Service, so features may be added, changed, or removed. If you send us feedback, we may use it without owing you anything.
In short: You can leave whenever you like. We may suspend or close accounts that break these Terms, and we will usually tell you why.
You can stop using the Service at any time. To close your account entirely, email team@lamppai.com.
We may suspend or close your account if you break these Terms, if the law requires it, or to protect learners, creators, or the Service. Where reasonable, we will tell you why and give you a chance to fix the problem first.
When your account closes, your right to use the Service ends, and unused minutes are lost. Sections that by their nature should survive, such as payment obligations, disclaimers, and limits of liability, continue to apply.
In short: We work hard on LamppAI, but we cannot promise it will be perfect, always available, or right for every purpose.
To the extent the law allows, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, that AI output will be accurate, or that practice will lead to any particular result, such as a job, a grade, or a certification.
In short: If something goes wrong, our liability is limited to what you paid us in the last 12 months, or USD 100 if that is more.
To the extent the law allows, LamppAI will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or opportunities, arising from your use of the Service.
Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or USD 100.
These limits do not apply to liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Indemnity
If you use the Service for an organization or as a creator, you will defend and compensate us against third-party claims arising from your content or your breach of these Terms.
In short: Talk to us first. Most problems can be solved by email.
If you have a problem with the Service, please email team@lamppai.com first. We will try to resolve it informally within 30 days.
If you are a consumer, you may bring a claim in the courts where you live, and the mandatory consumer laws of your country continue to protect you.
In short: If we make an important change, we will tell you before it takes effect.
We may update these Terms as the Service changes. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change materially affects you, we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect, unless it is required sooner by law or to address misuse. If you keep using the Service after a change takes effect, you accept the updated Terms.
- These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any written agreement with your organization, are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service.
- If any part of these Terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.
- If we do not enforce a right, we have not given it up.
- You may not transfer these Terms to anyone else. We may transfer them as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of our business.
- Neither of us is responsible for delays caused by events beyond reasonable control.
